5G KPIs

When a Test Agent Application is used for 5G core network testing, the following 5G KPIs are displayed whenever the RAN switcher task is executed:

• UE attach/detach: Time in ms from the UE initiating attachment to successfully obtaining a (or failing to obtain) network attachment.

• 5G standalone UE-to-gNB RRC setup: Time in ms taken for the UE to set up an RRC connection to the gNodeB (from RRC Setup Request to RRC connection established).

• 5G standalone gNB-to-AMF registration: Time in ms between NAS Registration Request and NAS Registration Complete.

• SCTP connection time: Time in ms taken for the gNodeB to establish an SCTP connection to the core network.

• NG setup time: Time in ms from NG Setup Request to NG Setup Response. (NG = NG-RAN = Next Generation Radio Access Network.)

• PDU session establishment time: Time in ms from PDU Session Establishment Request to PDU Session Establishment Accept.

Note

The value “0 ms” for a KPI means “< 1 ms”. If the test failed or no data is available, a dash “–” is displayed.

KPI currently not supported

The following KPIs are currently not available:

• UE DHCP address assignment: Time from DHCP Request to response/assignment (or rejected request).

• 5G standalone gNB-to-AMF registration: Time between NAS Registration Request and NAS Identity Request.

• 5G standalone gNB-to-AMF registration: Time between NAS Identity Response and NAS Authentication Request.

• 5G standalone gNB-to-AMF registration: Time between NAS Authentication Response and NAS Security Mode Command.

• 5G standalone gNB-to-AMF registration: Time between NAS Security Mode Complete and NAS Registration Accept.

• 5G standalone security procedure: Total time between Security Mode Command and Security Mode Complete.

• 5G standalone RRC: Total time between RRC Reconfiguration and RRC Reconfiguration Complete.
